I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to go and see Hello Dolly with Bette Midler in NY, and all I can say is WOW!!! I spend 3 days singing along the song Hello Dolly like a child!! Growing up I was a huge fan of Barbara Streisand, I believe I saw all her movies at least 3 to 4 times… so when I saw that Bette Midler was doing Hello Dolly I had to fulfill my bucket list!
Yes, my bucket list was to see Better Midler BID… and I did!!!
I’ve been a huge fan even since saw Beaches, I got all her music back when you bought cd’s….and to make matters more fanatic she’s the only celebrity I follow on twitter… so yes, I adore her!
She never disappointed! I was so impressed by her witty personality, so charming and so lady like! The setting and staging was superb, honestly what a great ensemble. At times, I felt there were more people singing on stage, but then I realized the public was also singing! What an audience, they clapped and cheered every time she walked on stage, they laughed at every little comic remark she or the cast made. It was electrifying!!
In the end, I spend 2 wonderful hours that filled my heart with joy and nostalgia and they will remain with me until I’m gone.
So, if you are heading in to New York City any time soon, and what to have a wonderful time try and see Bette Midler!
Here are some of my favorite moments of that night!
A glimpse of her opening night!
